Quick Answers
May I bring my class in for a library orientation?
Reference librarians are available to provide library instruction at the Central/Davie or WHC Campus. Instruction sessions may be subject-specific on traditional or online library resources, or geared to library tours, the Internet, or general database searching techniques.
Can I place materials on reserve?
Faculty members from BC or FAU may place books from the library’s general circulating collection and other course-related materials (including personal copies) on reserve for student use.
How do I request a purchase of materials to add to the library collections?
The U/CL encourages BC and FAU Faculty on the Central/Davie or WHC Campus to participate in developing a robust and viable research-based collection. The Collection Development Librarian solicits purchase requests from Faculty through each department’s designated Library Liaison.
What do I need to login to the e-Resources from my office or from home?
BC Faculty: Your borrower ID number is your PID# found on your BC Photo ID card. Your default PIN is your birthday in MMDD format, so for example if your birthday is July 4, your PIN is 0704. If you have an old BCC ID card, your ID# is not listed on your ID card. To find your ID# login to Broward College employee Intranet. Your ID# is either 4 or 5 digits long. Please remember to add enough leading zeros to make a nine-digit number.
For example: If your PID# is 1234, your ID# is 000001234.
FAU faculty at the Davie Campus: The 14-digit number on the front or back of your FAU Owl Card, beginning with 21976 is your borrower ID. Do not type the letter "A" at the beginning or end. Your PIN is the last four digits of your Social Security number.
