Florida Atlantic University students may be obtain an Owl Card in Room 201 in the FAU Student Union (SD) building on the Davie Campus. The Owl Card is also your library card and must be activated in person at the U/C Library at the Check Out/In Desk in order to borrow materials or to access the U/C Library databases and online journals. The first time visiting the U/C Library, please bring your Owl Card and another photo ID. Afterwards, anyone may request to have their library record updated in person, using the online form, or by calling the U/C Library Check Out Desk at 954-201-6649. Currently enrolled FAU students need to have their library record updated at the U/C Library each semester. All students must present their ID cards in order to check out materials.
Lost or Stolen ID Cards
Lost or stolen ID cards should be reported to the FAU Student Union and to the U/C Library Circulation staff. Once the loss or theft of the ID card is reported to us, the library account will be blocked against further use. If the ID card is recovered, you must present a picture ID in order to have the block removed.
Broward College faculty and staff can obtain an ID card at the Student Activities Office on your campus (on Central--Bldg 19, Room 106). The library’s patron database is updated weekly during the three academic terms. Your card is valid as long as you are enrolled at BC. Patrons who receive their ID card and need to use the library or Academic Success Center resources immediately will have to go to the Check Out/In Desk at the U/C Library to have their card activated manually. Otherwise, your card can be used at the library or online within a week. BC patrons from any campus, center, or online may use the U/C Library. If you are attending BC and FAU simultaneously, you will need to use your BC student ID to check out materials. All students must present their ID cards in order to check out materials.

You are responsible for all items charged to your card and for the safe return of all library or ASC materials. If an item is lost, stolen, or damaged, you are responsible for all replacement costs.
Appropriate posted fines and fees are applicable for overdue, lost, damaged, reprocessing, or rebinding of items, including Interlibrary Loan materials. Damage includes but is not limited to highlighting, writing, removing or losing the cover wrapper, stains, wetness, etc.
The willful mutilation or unauthorized removal of library, Interlibrary Loan, or ASC materials will result in disciplinary and/or legal action.
Damage to Patron's Equipment
The U/C Library disclaims all responsibility for any reported damage sustained by patron's equipment attributed to the use of audiovisual or computer materials checked out from the Library or Academic Success Center.
*Damaged or Lost Items:
The library reserves the right to assess the condition of all returned library materials. Damage fees may vary, depending on the extent of damage, up to the full cost of the item. All Lost, Rebound, Damaged items include a $6.00 non-refundable processing charge. Replacement copies for lost items will not be accepted.
