POS 2041 Research Paper
The purpose of your paper is to allow you the opportunity to research and analyze a current issue/problem in one of the following four policy areas: National Security, Economic/Social Welfare, Environment/Energy, and Healthcare. Your topic is subject to instructor approval and must be submitted on D2L according to the dates listed in the syllabus.
Sources matter. Please be sure to include at least two scholarly sources (books, peer reviewed journal articles). You may of course, use other credible sources, such as the news sources included in the current event sections, documentary films, etc. but they do not count for your two scholarly sources.
This paper should be at least 5 full pages and no more than 8. Use standard 1 inch margins, 12 pt Times New Roman font, double-spaced. The cover page and bibliography are NOT included in your page count. This is a formal paper, and as such, needs a clear introduction and tight conclusion. Further, you must use in-text citations and attach a works cited or bibliography page to the end. You may use any citation style you choose (Chicago, MLA, APA, etc.) as long as you are consistent. I prefer Chicago.
