Annotated Bibliography

Learning Objective: To locate, evaluate, and document primary and secondary sources in MLA format.

Instructions: All students must turn in a bibliography of 10 sources on one of the topics below. Each source must be annotated and documented according to the MLA style of documentation, which must be formatted according to the rules and guidelines listed on the web link on D2L. The following link will take you to the Bedford/St. Martin’s web site with the following URL:  Your list of sources should be varied; for example, you may include two articles from peer-reviewed journals, three articles from newspapers or magazines, two books.

Topics: All students should find 10 sources on a topic about nature. You may  argue about food, types of diet, the environment and so on. Your topic must be approved before you start writing, so please check with me before starting your research.

Note: This assignment is not an essay assignment. It is only a collection of sources. However, it is the first stage of Essay #3, an argumentative paper. The topic you choose for this assignment will be the same topic you write on for Essay #3. No student will be allowed to research one subject and write on another, so choose carefully. Additionally, I strongly recommend you hold on to your sources by checking out your books and printing or saving your articles. This will prevent you from doing the research all over again.
