  • Who wrote it- an expert or a novice?
  • Why did they write it- do they stand to gain anything?
  • What did they write- is it an opinionated piece or a research based report?
  • Where was it published- in a popular magazine or a scholarly/ peer-reviewed journal?
  • When was it published- recently or is it outdated?
