APA Quick Tips

  • Check out the Broward College Libraries' comprehensive APA Guide for additional, comprehensive APA assistance.
  • All statistics (any information that contains percentages or numbers, for example) require both an in-text and References page citation.
  • Remember to partially quote or paraphrase to show that you have read and understood the source materials you are using. Avoid blocks of direct quoting, particularly without introducing your own ideas first!
  • For help with creating References entries (especially for sources you did not retrieve from a library database), use a reliable online citation generator, such as NoodleTools or check out our Tips for Using the Microsoft Word References Tool.
