1. Compare and contrast the lives and backgrounds of the two Wes Moores. How are they alike and how are they different? What factors do you think determined how each Wes Moore would eventually lead their lives and accomplish?
2. The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates takes place in Baltimore and Philadelphia, but the stories of the Wes Moores is not confined to the inner city. How does the culture surrounding the two Wes’s compare to the culture or cultures in which you were raised? What and who were the prime influences in your life? Compare and contrast these with one of the Wes’s.
3. There are turning points in each of our lives, defining moments that affect the path we take, although we may not realize it at the time. Can you pinpoint a turning point for each of the Wes’s? Has there been a turning point in your own life that you can point to that helped define the person you have become? Explain your answer.
