Veg Club - a resource for all things veggie

Veg Club is a registered Student Life organization. We open our doors to any Broward College student on the Central campus interested in learning information about animal-free lifestyles. This research-based group is open to all vegans, veg-curious, and meat lovers. Let's learn about plant-based information literacy together. Come as you eat! All are welcome in Veg Club. ​​​​​​

The Sammys 2021

Congratulations to our Veg Club president, Tamar Deletis, for being named Outstanding Member of the Year at the 2021 Sammy's, the Student Life annual recognition ceremony. Tamar, a dual enrollment student in the College Academy program, also received this esteemed honor in 2020. Tamar served as president of Veg Club for three semesters and graduated from Broward College in spring 2021. Way to go, Tamar!

To celebrate Earth Day, the Broward College Veg Club presented an informational seminar on: 
A Plant-Based Diet and its Environmental Impact

This 2021 Literary Festival event took place on Thursday, April 22nd, 2021 @ 3:00 p.m.

Veg Club Student Speakers included Divya Dhawan, Noelle Mena, Nhi Van, Alexander Charkiewicz, Tamar Deletis

The event was hosted by Veg Club advisor and faculty librarian, Jason Anfinsen.

Advisor of the year - Jason Anfinsen

Congratulations to our Veg Club advisor, faculty librarian Jason Anfinsen, named Broward College Central Campus 2021 Advisor of the Year at this year's Sammys, the Student Life annual recognition ceremony. Student Life recognized Jason for his service and support as faculty advisor to the students in the College's plant-based information literacy organization that he created, Veg Club. The Veg Club executive board comprises dual enrollment high school students in the College Academy program. The mission of Veg Club is to meet new people, exchange ideas, and promote plant-based information literacy through research, evaluation, and sharing of credible health information sources. Way to go, Jason!
