Literary Festival: Participants FAQ's

FAQ

What is this all about?

As conceived by the University/College Library, the Literary Feast is an informal introduction of the published and artistic professors of FAU and Broward College to the students, staff and faculty. The authors/musicians/artists are asked to bring their work and be prepared for student's questions about the publishing process, the inspiration and of course the works and professors themselves. Oh, and there are refereshments too.

What's with the media release forms?

We will be recording the event for promotional use. Also, participants are asked to allow us to do a brief one-on-one on camera interview about their works and their process. We plan for this interview to take place during the Literary Feast (in a side room).

How do I get to participate?

Have you published a book, or article? Have you presented at a professional conference? Performed your origianal musical composition? Displayed your artwork in a gallery or museum? Within the last year? Yes? Well, then just fill-out the participation form on the left side of this page, return it to Sunem Beaton-Garcia (sbeaton@broward.edu) who will follow-up with specifics.

What if I publish online? or am self-published?

We are looking for a variety of publishing experiences to share with the students of BC and FAU, so please fill-out the participation form and together we will find a way to display your unique works.

Can I bring my students?

Yes! Please! Every year we have professors give extra-credit for student attendance and/or an assignement based on the event. As this is primarily an event for the students, please invite as many as you can.

I don't want to participate, but I still want to come.

The more the merrier. We welcome all FAU and BC faculty, staff and students to this event.

When is this?

Next year's feast is in the planning stages we will post the date for the next feast soon! (we do ask that the participants come a few minutes early so they can be seated and ready).

Where is this?

The Literary Feast will be held in the library at the New Visual Arts Center (Blg. 6). There is a map of the campus in this guide.

Whom do I contact to get more information?
